Our Brand New Defender 375
Tomcat Motorsport are delighted to release the new Defender Tomcat 376.
The
Defender 376 uses the latest 6.2 Direct injection GM LT1 V8 engine and 8 speed
automatic gearbox, while little power advantage over the previous LS series
engine, the LT offers improved fuel consumption and considerably improved
emissions and drivability. The package is mated to a highly modified Landrover
LT230 transfer gearbox, includes a 1:100 high ratio and a centre ATB limited
slip differential, to ensure power is fed to the front and rear axle when
required to minimise any wheel slip.
Installing
a GM V8 into a classic Landrover has been done many times before, however,
where we differ due to extensive experience in building and setting up
Landrover derived cars to be competitive off road race cars. This knowledge has
been imparted into the 376 Defender to harness the 460+bhp to ensure the
driving experience is exhilarating not terrifying. The 376 is a refrained to
drive if in town etc, however, when the load pedal is pressed with enthusiasm,
the car comes live and would give most sports cars a run for their money.
While
the Defender 376 will accelerate from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, achieve licence
losing speeds quickly, stops and handles unlike any Landrover of it era was
designed to do, its exterior and interior looks have been customised to suit
the defender 376’s persona. The exterior benefits a custom Santorini black
paint, red pinstriping to the body and bonnet, 18” genuine Landrover saw tooth
wheels painted and pin stripped to match the car. All lights are led, including
powerful led headlights and driving / fog lights mounted in a Tomcat stainless
steel front bumper, again paint matched to the rest of the car.
The
theme continues with the interior benefiting from an Alcantara head lining,
Caledonian red leather seats with black stitching to match exterior, matching
red leather door cards, black leather trim to all other internal surfaces
including the rear door. Tomcat designed leather trimmed central cubby box with
built in USB point for charging and AUX. New Alpine infotainment system with
Apple car play, plus many little subtle finishing details to the interior to
set it apart from the standard defender.
The
Defender 376 is still a defender as intended, but even with the light exterior
customisation this car really is a wolf in sheepos clothing.

Motorsports Services
Wildcat 100 and 200
The Tomcat and Wildcat 100 and 200’s, were all conceived and initially developed by Drew Bowler. While the rights to the two vehicles lines were eventually sold to separate parties - Tomcat to us, Wildcat to another third party - they continue to share much of their engineering DNA.
At Tomcat Motorsport, we've been maintaining, repairing and modifying Wildcat vehicles for over 15 years. With Bowler Motorsport no longer in operation and service options for Wildcats now limited, our support has become increasingly sought-after by owners and prospective buyers alike.
If you currently own a Wildcat - or are considering purchasing one - we're here to help you get the most out of your vehicle. To discuss your needs, please contact Mark or Paul directly.
3D CAD Facilities
We utilise the latest 2024 Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software, allowing us to rapidly design, prototype, and refine components. This advanced capability significantly streamlines the development process - both in-house and in collaboration with our build partners - ensuring efficiency and precision in the production of Tomcat vehicles and specialist parts.
If you require 3D CAD design services, we'd be happy to discuss how we can support your project. Please get in touch to learn more.
3D Printing and Prototyping
As stated above we have 3D CAD design and 3D printing facilities in house with laser scanning and CNC machining partners enabling us to prototype and manufacture almost an unlimited design of parts and components. This service has allowed us to develop many components to assist with prototyping through to final design. If you need a specialist parts designing, 3D printed, scanning or CNC machined, please contact us.
Welding Fabrication
We have both Mig and Tig welding units, a small machine shop and a comprehensively fitted out fabrication workshop. We are able to manufacture in steel, stainless steel and aluminium. If you need and fabricated components designing / manufacturing, please contact us.
Other Off-Road Competition Vehicles
In the main build, modify, maintain and rebuild Tomcat and Bowler derived vehicles, however, we maintain and repair all other manner of recognised ALRC, MSA and FIA off road race cars.
Other Vehicles
By the nature of what we do here at Tomcat, majority of our work involves prototyping and thinking out the box. This has inevitability led us to work on all manner of specialist vehicles including kit cars, track competition cars, branded race cars and specialist sports cars etc. As a special job we have even some made components for a canal boat!
If this is of interest to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Note: With exception of Tomcat and Bowler cars, we are not a motor garage, we are a Development, Fabrication and Engineering facility, we do not have the facility to service Landrover products or any everyday cars, these must be taken to your dealer or local motor garage services.
